Join us as we hike the 3 Northern Presidential mountains of the White Mountains. We will hit three 4K ft peaks, practice yoga each day, and stay in one of AMC's 100 year old full service huts!

Madison Spring hut sits above the treeline at the northern end of the Presidential Range and overlooks the sheer walls of Madison Gulf. Hike a moderate 3.8 miles to spectacular views of the Presidential, Kilkenny, and Pilot Ranges. For a closer-in feel, jog over to nearby Star Lake and marvel at the fragile alpine flora unique to this little corner of the world.

First built in 1888, Madison Spring Hut has been newly rebuilt and greets hikers with wide, open views and comfortable bunks. Its heritage as AMC’s first high mountain hut is honored by the fantastic croo that serves up hearty meals and offers helpful information about the surrounding trails, geology, and plant life.


This is moderately strenuous retreat that will test your limits while bringing you back in touch with nature. Please be prepared to hike on steep and rocky terrain while carrying a bag with snacks and layers that can weigh between 10-20 pounds. While we encourage hiking novices to sign up, we recommend that you be in good athletic shape and capable of continuous activity for at least four hours at a time. The yoga will be gentle and empowering. No need to hike a yoga mat into the mountains, but I do recommend bringing a towel.  This retreat is on rain or shine, so bring your raincoat and pack quick dry (non cotton) materials.


We will be hiking an out and back loop. The first day we will summit one peak and stay overnight in Madison Spring Hut. The next day we will wake up eat breakfast and summit the remaining two peaks as we complete the loop that will bring us back to our accent down to the parking lot. This trail is largely above tree line and will not be determined until a week or so before our trek due to weather concerns. Please email if you would like more specifics.

Day 1

Meet at the Appalachia parking area Saturday morning @ 8:30am
Pack bags and check our gear
Hike to Madison Spring Hut where we will drop our bags at the hut take and take a quick break
Optional Hike to Mount Madison
Yoga Class
Dinner at 6PM Sharp
Evening activities, sunset, meditation, explore
Cozy up in your bunk and enjoy a good night sleep

Day 2
Breakfast at 6:30AM
Morning stretch & meditation
Pack up and get hiking!
Hike Mount Adams & Mount Jefferson
Enjoy snacks, and mountain top views (weather permitting yoga class)
Descend towards parking lot
